The Province of Bataan clinched the 10th place in this year’s Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) ranking.
CMCI recognizes municipalities and provinces based on population and income with an average weighted overall score from the 5 Pillars of Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, Resiliency, and Innovation. It aims to highlight the progress of the locality in the different development aspects such as measures for economic growth, infrastructure development, disaster resiliency and innovation.
For Bataan, CMCI cited that much of the improvements were the result of collaborative efforts between the Local Government Units (LGUs) as initiated by the provincial government, serving as a testament to dedication, effort, support, and camaraderie of the Bataeño community towards sustainable development.
For his part, Bataan Gov. Joet Garcia lauded “the partnership between the public and private sectors to highlight various government programs and projects which ultimately benefit the province through increased investments, job opportunities, and economic progress.”
